It takes a special kind of project to bring Symphonia Academica together. Take for example Mahler’s 4th Symphony, condensed for soprano and 12 players. A rare treat to play and hear and a stunning way to bring one of the greatest symphonies – by one of the greatest composers – into the school or village hall. Pair that with a tailor-made project for local school children, their parents and grandparents and you have something to get the entire community buzzing.
But that’s not all. If the stage is smaller then the band can be smaller. On the other hand if you crave for Elgar’s Serenade for Strings played by a full string orchestra then you’re in luck – Symphonia Academica do that too.
